You can do a lot of cool things with that, but here are the most important things for you to know:
- If you post with your Google login (or Facebook or other social media site) the comment will likely show your full name, even if you have set a different display name. If you do not want this to happen, the best thing you can do is to create a Disqus login, which you can do from the comment box on any post. It just takes a second. Disqus is smart enough to grab your Google profile pic, or you can upload it separately. You need do this only once and it will be remembered every time you visit this blog.
- If you do make a Disqus account, you can set up your profile to email you any time there are comments on a given thread or when they are made in reply to your comments. One advantage of this is that if you cannot access this blog from work, you can still get (and even post!) comments right from your email account, using only your Disqus login. It's pretty damned powerful.
- I can now installed a sidebar widget that shows recent comments as well as what thread they are from, plus rankings for who leaves the most comments. Overall, this is a much better tool that gives you many options for following comments in different ways.
If you have questions, please post them here so I can respond for all to see.
