Marlin's reliever Brian Sanches pitched 39 games for the Marlins in 2011, and in 10 of those games he entered with runners already on base. None of those 19 runners scored and Sanches earned himself 2nd place for the most runners inherited without allowing a run to score. (The usual PI event finder disclaimers apply. Although with relief pitching it is likely that we have a complete list.)

Another reliever who prevented inherited runners from scoring was Dodgers rookie Kenley Jansen. Jansen inherited 21 runners and only allowed 1 to score. This is tied for the 10th most inherited runners with only one scoring. (PI event disclaimer...)

ERA is often knocked as a statistic when it comes to relievers. However, when combined with IS% , it can be very telling. In the list above BJ Ryan's 2006 season jumps out as a wonderful combination.
In 2011 there were 2 pitchers who sported an ERA+ that made the all time top 10 for pitchers with at least 50 innings. And while their IS% were not nearly as sparkling as the ones on the list above, their achievements are notable, nonetheless.
